LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State Women's Soccer had three student-athletes earn individual national rankings in Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Rankings. Lena Silano (87) was among the top 100 in all of NCAA while Julia Moore (94) and Cherrie Cox (98) made the list of top 100 freshmen.
Silano is having another historic season in her final year at the Beach. Coming off the ninth hat trick in program history, she leads The Big West in total points (29), goals (12), and tied for first in assists (5). Nationally, she is fifth in all of NCAA in goals scored, sixth in total points, seventh in points per game, and eighth in goals per game. She continues to etch her name into LBSU history ranking in the single-season top ten for goals scored and total points, while also being in the career rankings for shots, goals, points, and game-winners.
Moore has been a staple in the Long Beach State midfield all season starting all 14 matches and playing the fifth most minutes on the team. She registered her first career goal in a win over CSU Bakersfield in the second league match of the season and recently added an assist to her total against UCSD. She is one of nine Beach players to have a goal and an assist this season.
Cox has played in all 14 matches and made 10 starts, including each of the last seven. She is currently tied for the second most points on the team with 11, registering four goals and three assist in her debut season. She also ranks in the top ten in goals scored and total points in The Big West and is one of seven players in the league to have at least two multi-point efforts.
The LBSU trio of Silano, Moore, and Cox are the only representatives of The Big West on either list.
