Cross Country Returns to Action at Bronco Invitational

After almost a full month without a meet, the Beach is heading to Santa Clara this weekend.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State Cross Country team returns to action this weekend as they head to Santa Clara for the Bronco Invitational. It marks their third meet of the season and first since September 17.

Invitational Times: Men's 8K at 8:45 a.m. | Women's 6K at 9:30 a.m.
Open Times: Men's 8K at 10:15 a.m. | Women's 8K at 11:00 a.m.

All four races will be ran at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, Calif. Admission to the meet is free, but parking costs $6 per car.
Their last meet was the UCR Invitational where history was made as both Ryley Fick and Allie Scimia beat the previous school record for the women's 6K. Fick won the event with a time of 20:07.5 beating Rosa Del Toro's record by almost a full 20 seconds and beat second place by seven seconds. Scimia crossed the line in fourth place with what ranks as the second fastest mark in program history at 20:16.5.
On the men's side, Michael Phillips was the top finisher for the Beach in ninth place. He set a new PR and moved into third fastest in program history with a time of 24:02.1 in the men's 8K.
In the team standings, the women finished seventh while the men were 14th.
This is the penultimate meet of the season leading into The Big West Championships at the end of the month.
