Alex Nikolov Named Off the Block National Freshman of the Week

The rookie outside hitter had an outstanding collegiate debut that led to his earning the weekly accolades
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State freshman outside hitter Alex Nikolov kicked off his collegiate career in a big way as he led the Beach defense with six digs and four aces en route to being named Off the Block National Freshman of the Week.
Nikolv, a product out of Sofia Bulgaria, had an outstanding match against Harvard on Saturday night. In addition to leading the Beach defensively, he also added eight kills on a .385 attack percentage, while contributing two assists, and a block.
The Off the Block staff determines each award recipient and the winners are announced every week during the regular season.
