Two Beach Volleyball Pairs Awarded AVCA Top Flight Award

The AVCA announced their third annual Top Flight Award winners on Tuesday.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced the winners of their third annual Top Flight Award winners and Long Beach State had two pairs receive the honor.

Makenzie Griffin and Kenzie Holtz received the award for the third flight while Skyler Germann and Alice Pratesi were honored in the fourth flight.

In order to be eligible for the award, a pair had to play in at least 15 matches together at a specific flight number, and then win at least 75% of their matches in that flight.

Griffin and Holtz went 11-7 when paired together this season. The duo was one of eight pairs in the nation to receive the award for the third flight.

Germann and Pratesi sported the best winning percentage on the team and their 15-3 record in the fourth flight is fourth-best in the nation. They were one of six pairs to be honored in the flight
