Long Beach State Moves into the Top 5 After the Second Round at El Macero Classic

Hunter Epson fired a 68 in round two to move into a tie for eighth place with a 3-under par
MACERO, Calif. – Long Beach State shaved eight strokes off their performance in round two at El Macero Classic on Sunday as the Beach moved into the top 5 at the tournament.
Leading the way at El Macero is No. 29 San Francisco which is 14-under par. St. Mary's is in second with 10-under par, while UC Davis and Fresno State are tied for third with 9-under par. The Beach, meanwhile, are at an even-par and tied in fifth place with Santa Clara.
In the second round, the Beach were led by senior Hunter Epson who fired a 68 knocking five strokes off of his first round score. With the 4-under showing in round two, Epson moved himself into the top 10 as he sits in a tie for eighth place heading into the final round.
Overall, Long Beach State has four golfers in the top 30 as Clay Seeber is shooting an even par and tied for 23rd, while Isaac Rodea shot a 1-under in the second round to bring his two-round total to 1-over par as he is in a tie for 27th. Tyler Schafer is 2-over par after two rounds and is tied for 29th place.
