Graves, Tshiaba Claim Big West Weekly Honors

Anitha Graves was named Female Track Athlete of the Week and PJ Tshiaba was named Male Field Athlete of the Week.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State had two athletes claim weekly honors from the Big West Conference after their performances at the Trojan INvitaional. Anitha Graves was named Female Track Athlete of the Week and PJ Tshiaba was named Male Field Athlete of the Week.

Graves posted a 2:12.11 time in the 800m Run, coming in sixth place at the Trojan Invitational. That mark ranks third best in the conference, 17^th in the NCAA West, and 34^th in the entire country. Personally, it is her second fastest time in her career and she now ranks number ten in program history.

Tshiaba's 2.15m (7'0.5") mark in the men's High Jump gave him the victory at the Trojan Invitational this past weekend. That height is currently tops in the conference by five centimeters, tied for second in the NCAA West, and tied for third in the country. He now ranks sixth on Long Beach State's all-time list.
