LBSU Tennis Concludes Fall Season at Watanabe Classic

The Beach finished with a pair of singles wins and a doubles victory
LAS VEGAS, Nev.- Long Beach State Tennis wrapped up the fall season at the Watanabe Classic on Sunday, posting two singles wins and a doubles win.
In doubles action, Zara Lennon and Zuzanna Szczepanska set the tone for the Beach, with a 6-4 win. Also in doubles play Nikola Homolkova and Sheena Masuda fell in their match 6-0, while Claire Le Du and Andreea Ciornei also dropped a closely contested match 6-2.
In singles play, Homolkova earned a three set win in dramatic fashion, dropping the first set 3-6, before winning two straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to pull off the comeback win. Masuda continued the trend for LBSU, with a straight sets win 6-4, 6-0 in her match.
Also in singles action, Claire Le Du played in the flight three singles final, but came up just short in a back-and-forth match, falling 5-7, 3-6. In flight one, Lennon took her match to three sets, but also came up just short, falling 2-6, 6-4, 3-6. In addition, Szczepanska fell in her match in flight four, 4-6, 3-6, and Ciornei fell in another close match 3-6, 2-6.
LBSU Tennis will be back in action in the spring with the Beach Winter Invitational scheduled for January 21-23, 2022.
