Senior Jack Ainscough leads Long Beach State with a 3-over par showing for a tie for 19th place

RENO – The Long Beach State men's golf team wrapped up action at the Wolf Pack Classic on Tuesday afternoon at the Hidden Valley Country Club as the Beach were led by senior Jack Ainscough who finished in the top 20.
LBSU tied Loyola Marymount for ninth place with a 21-over par as the Beach shaved three strokes off their game in the second and third rounds for a solid final day in Reno, Nev.
New Mexico won the tournament with a 14-under par showing, while San Francisco placed second with a 10-under par. Host Nevada took third with 13-over, while UCLA (14-over) and San Jose State (16-over) rounded out the top five.
Ainscough led the Beach with a 3-over par as he shot even par in the second and final rounds to improve on his first-round 75.
Sophomore Isaac Rodea finished 6-over par, while freshman Ian Gilligan shot 7-over. Gilligan shot an even 72 in the final round as he knocked four strokes off of his round two score.
The Beach have a few weeks off before they hit the green again at the St. Mary's Invitational in Pebble Beach, Calif., from Monday, Nov. 8 – Wednesday, Nov. 10.
