The Beach will play host to the 2024 National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship as well as the 2025 and 2026 National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Long Beach State will once again be the center of the volleyball world's focus for three straight years as the Beach will host three championships over 2024, 2025, and 2026 as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Home of the two-time defending Men's Volleyball champions, the Walter Pyramid will once again play host to the National Championship to conclude the 2024 campaign. Long Beach State has hosted the championship on three previous occasions in the Walter Pyramid, most recently in the last contested championship in 2019.
While the Walter Pyramid is a familiar national championship site, Long Beach State Athletics is proud to be the host for a unique new experience, as the bid placed for the 2025 and 2026 Beach Volleyball championships was also accepted.
The 2023 and 2024 championships will remain in Gulf Shores, Ala., where the championship has been held since the sport's first competitive season in 2012. The championship will then move to the West Coast for the first time in 2025, when Long Beach State will partner with Visit Anaheim to bring the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship to California.
Championship play will be hosted at the Huntington Beach Pier, with the associated events of the championship split between the cities of Long Beach and Huntington Beach.
Long Beach State has had a tradition of success in both sports. The Men's Volleyball program has won three National Championships and made 11 Final Four appearances, while Long Beach State was one of the inaugural programs of Beach Volleyball, and won the 2013 National Championship while making three championship appearances.
