Beach Men’s Golf Adds Clay Seeber to 2019 Signing Class

LONG BEACH, Calif. –The Men's Golf program at Long Beach State has added a fourth recruit to its 2019 signing class with Clay Seeber from Newport Beach, Calif. signing his National Letter of Intent with the Beach. Seeber joins the three signees announced back in November (Owen Avrit, Trip Morris, and Isaac Rodea) to form a four-player signing class for the 2019-20 school year.

"We are excited to welcome Clay to the Long Beach State family," said LBSU head coach Michael Wilson. "His competitive drive, work ethic, and passion for the game will further turn the needle here at Long Beach State Men's Golf. We're confident that Clay, along with Owen, Trip and Issac, will step into the lineup and have an immediate impact."

Seeber attends Halstrom Academy in Orange County and comes to Long Beach State with a solid list of accomplishments as an amateur player. He has three individual titles dating back to 2016, when he won both the 2016 SCPGA Tour Cup event in La Costa, plus won the AJGA Junior All Star Invitational the same year. He posted a first-round 64 in La Costa, finishing the three-round tournament with a total score of 200.

Seeber also took first place at the 2018 SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup Championship with a score of 143 in 36 holes. He also scored a runner-up finish at the 2017 Ping Heather Farr Classic and was third at the 2018 SCPGA Tour Cup in Santa Ana.

Long Beach State will continue its season Mar. 25-26 at the Duck Invitational in Cresswell, Ore., with just two tournaments remaining before the Big West Championships at the end of April.
