On the other side of the court, Kinslow grabbed the rebound after missed shot from Air Force's Haley Jones and passed it off to junior Shanaijah Davison who threw up a layup that just missed. However, senior Aaryon Green was right there for the put back to give Long Beach State a 63-62 lead with 20.7 seconds left on the clock, marking the Beach's first lead of the game since late in the first half.
Jones made the front end of a pair of free throws to even the score at 63-all with 10.6 ticks left on the clock as the game went into overtime.
The Beach came out firing in the overtime period knocking down six-straight points to jump out in front of the Falcons 69-63 at 2:58. Long Beach State extended its lead to seven (72-65) with 31 seconds left in overtime before closing out the game on a pair of made free throws by sophomore Justina King to make it 74-68.
Davison led all scorers with a season-high 26 points as she connected on 10-of-23 field goals, while adding three rebounds and as many assists. King (13 points), Kinslow (11 points), and sophomore Jasmine Hardy (10 points) rounded out the Beach's double-figure scorers.
Kinslow's eight boards set the tone for LBSU, as Aaryon Green, Ma'Qhi Berry, and Hardy each contributed six rebounds.
Defensively, Berry collected four of the Beach's 11 steals and Long Beach State forced Air Force into 24 turnovers. LBSU capitalized converting 28 points off of turnovers in the game.
Air Force received solid showings from Riley Snyder (23 points), Kaelin Immel (14 points), and Allyah Marlett (10 points), as the Falcons shot 46.4 percent in the game.
Long Beach State will be back in action at the Women of Troy Classic at the Galen Center on Friday, Dec. 20 as the Beach take on UT Rio Grande Valley at 3:30 p.m., before closing out the tournament with host USC on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
