Women's Basketball Welcomes Air Force, Travels to USC Tournament
The Long Beach State women's basketball team has a busy week on tap as the Beach host Air Force on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m., before traveling to Los Angeles for the Women of Troy Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Beach will take on UT Rio Grande Valley on Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m., before going up against the host Trojans on Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

About The Beach
• Long Beach State is 3-7 on the year after dropping its last two games to Seattle (66-54) and No. 3 Oregon (81-45).
• The Beach host Air Force on Wednesday in the last home game of the calendar year, before wrapping up the non-conference season at the Women of Troy Classic on Friday and Saturday at USC.
• The Beach are averaging 58.2 points per game as they have connected on 219-of-583 field goals for a shooting percentage of 37.6.
• As a team, Long Beach State is averaging 31.0 rebounds per game to go along with 10.9 assists per game, 11.9 steals per game, and 2.0 blocks per game.
• LBSU leads the Big West in steals per game (11.9) and turnover margin (+6.3) as the Beach have forced their opponents into more than 200 turnovers this season.
• Sophomore Justina King leads the team with 12.3 points per game, while junior Shanaijah Davison adds 12.2 points per game. 
Cydnee Kinslow is the team's leading rebounder with 6.2 boards per game. She has racked up three double-figure rebounding games so far and has led the squad in boards on five occasions. 
Ma'Qhi Berry leads the Beach with 26 steals to average 2.6 per game which is tops in the Big West. She leads a quartet of LBSU players who rank in the top 10 in the league.
• In addition to leading the squad in scoring, King is also the Beach's leader in assists with 34 to average 3.4 assists per game to rank eighth in the Big West.
Lauren Green is the team's leader in blocks as the sophomore forward has put up seven on the year so far, while Kinslow and Jasmine Hardy right behind her with four each.
• Long Beach State has officially changed the nickname for all sports other than baseball to Beach with the NCAA. Please do not refer to LBSU basketball as the 49ers.

Scouting Air Force
The United States Air Force Academy comes into the Walter Pyramid with a 2-8 overall record. The Falcons are coming off of a 68-61 win at Nevada which snapped a seven-game losing streak. 

This season, the Falcons are averaging 61.1 points per game while shooting 34.8 percent from the field. Meanwhile, their opponents are shooting 45.7 percent while averaging 69.1 points per game.

Kaelin Immel and Riley Snyder lead Air Force in scoring as Immel is the team's top scorer with 14.2 points per game, while Snyder adds 13.7. Immel is also the team leader in assists with 30 on the year, while adding 3.6 rebounds per game, 13 steals, and seven blocks.

Emily Conroe and Haley Jones have each grabbed 68 rebounds to average 6.8 boards per game. Jones's 21 steals and nine blocks are also tops on the squad.

Scouting UT Rio Grande Valley
UT Rio Grande Valley brings a 5-4 overall record into the Women of Troy Classic as the Vaqueros venture out of the state of Texas for the first time this season.

The Vaqueros are coming off of a 59-54 loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi after having strung together three straight victories over Texas A&M Kingsville (66-45), UTSA (75-64), and Texas A&M International (72-56).

Trelynn Tyler leads the team with 16.5 points per game, while Jordan Agustus adds 14.1 points per game. Tyler is also the squad's leader in assists (25) and steals (17), while Agustus's 7.3 rebounds per game and 18 blocks are tops for UT Rio Grande Valley.

The Series: The Beach vs. The Vaqueros
Long Beach State and UT Rio Grande Valley will meet for the first time in program history.

Scouting USC
USC is currently 5-3 on the year after the Trojans picked up a 60-57 win over Alabama to close out the month of November. The Trojans have had a two week hiatus before hosting the Women of Troy Classic. 

The Trojans are shooting 39.3 percent from the field, while averaging 62.9 points per game.

USC is led by Endyia Rogers who averages 12.0 points per game, while Stephanie Watts adds 10.3 points per game. 

Alissa Pili has collected 56 rebounds this season to average 7.0 boards per game to lead the team, while posting 10 blocks which is second to Angel Jackson's 12 blocks. 

The Series: The Beach vs. The Trojans
Long Beach State and USC will meet for the 62nd time in program history and the Beach lead the all-time series 36-25. However, the Trojans have won the last nine meetings as LBSU is looking for its first victory over USC since 2005.

Offensive Output
The Beach have a pair of players averaging double-figures. Additionally, in 10 games thus far, Long Beach State has already seen three different players turn in 20-point performances. Sophomore Justina King leads the Beach with 12.3 points per game after notching a pair of 20-point efforts. She most recently poured in a season-high 23 points against LMU on Nov. 23. Second on the squad in scoring is junior Shanaijah Davison who is averaging 12.2 points per game in eight nine played. She, along with redshirt sophomore Ma'Qhi Berry, have each registered a 20-point performance for LBSU this season. 

Defensively Strong
Long Beach State has been defensively sound this season as the Beach lead the Big West Conference in steals with 119 to average 11.9 per game. LBSU has forced 211 turnovers (21.1 per game) as the team boasts a turnover margin of +6.3 to lead the conference.

Cleaning up the Glass
Senior forward Cydnee Kinslow is leading the rebounding charge for Long Beach State. She has grabbed double-digit boards in three of the Beach's 10 games so far to average 6.2 rebounds per game. The Oakley, Calif., native has done a solid job cleaning up the glass as she collected 11 rebounds at California Baptist in the season opener, then turned around and registered 11 boards at then-No. 11 UCLA. She set a new career-high with 12 rebounds against Utah State en route to a double-double as she added 13 points.

King is Queen
Sophomore guard Justina King has dished out 34 assists this season to set the pace for LBSU. Additionally, she adds a team-leading 12.3 points per game to go along with 1.8 rebounds per game, and 20 steals in 10 games so far. King totaled 29 points, five assists, four steals, and two rebounds at the Cal Classic to help the Beach to a second-place finish as she was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Berry Good
Redshirt sophomore Ma'Qhi Berry returned to the court after redshirting a year ago and has made an immediate impact for Long Beach State. The guard out of Irving, Texas is averaging 9.2 points per game to go along with 3.6 rebounds per game, while adding a team-leading 26 steals, and 15 assists. She racked up a career-high 22 points against Loyola Marymont and has recorded three double-figure performances thus far. Berry has been efficient from the field shooting 52.1 percent as she has connected on 28-of-73 field goals. 

Off the Bench
Junior guard Shanaijah Davison has made a splash for Long Beach State coming off the bench and averaging 12.2 points per game to rank second on the team. Davision has also contributed 2.8 rebounds per game, while adding 18 assists and 14 steals. She has made one start this season, but has since come off the bench in every other contest to help LBSU outscore its opponents bench in six games so far.

Green Machines
Long Beach State's Lauren Green and Aaryon Green are not related, but both give the Beach solid play when on the court. Lauren Green is a sophomore forward from Tucson, Ariz., while Aaryon Green is a redshirt senior out of Rialto, Calif. Lauren has started in 9-of-10 games so far and leads the team with seven blocks, while adding 4.4 rebounds per game, 4.1 points per game, and 14 steals. Meanwhile Aaryon has earned three starts thus far and has registered 2.8 points per game, 2.0 rebounds per game, five steals and as many assists.

Long Beach State will take a short hiatus for the holidays before getting back on the court against Bethesda in an exhibition game on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. a the Walter Pyramid.
