The Long Beach State Women's Volleyball team is looking for its third straight win after having won four of its last six matches. The Beach have a busy week with three matches on tap. LBSU will take on UC Santa Barbara at Rob Gym on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., in the lone road contest of the week, before returning to the Walter Pyramid to host UC Riverside and UC Davis at the Walter Pyramid on Friday and Saturday.

About the Beach
• Long Beach State improved to 7-13 and 4-4 in the Big West Conference after a competitive five-set victory over CSUN last week.
• The Beach has now won four of their last six matches as they head into the final month of regular season action.
• Senior libero Hailey Harward had a solid defensive match against CSUN as she collected 21 digs to mark her sixth 20-plus dig performance of the season. She has now amassed 1,455 digs in her career to rank fourth all-time at LBSU.
• Also moving up in the Long Beach State annals is senior middle blocker YiZhi Xue who tied her season-high with six block assists last week. Her career total is now 369 as she sits in seventh place, just three block assists shy of sixth.
• Offensively Kashauna Williams leads the Beach with 4.00 kills per set. She tallied 19 kills against CSUN to lead Long Beach State along with Xue who registered a career-high 19 kills versus the Matadors.
• Setters Carly-Aigner Swesey and Tia Chavira continue to split setter duties for the Beach. Aigner-Swesey, a sophomore, leads the way with 9.35 assists per set, while Chavira paces the offense with 8.26 assists.
Scouting the Gauchos
UC Santa Barbara is 18-2 on the year and 8-1 in the Big West. The Gauchos are tied with Cal Poly at the top of the Big West standings and are receiving votes after winning 16 of their last 17 matches. The Gauchos' lone loss during that stretch came against then-No. 19 Hawaii on October 12. Since the UCSB has picked up three-straight wins over Cal Poly, UC Davis and UC Riverside.
Lindsey Ruddins is the Gauchos' leading scorer as she averages 4.50 kills per set on .285 hitting. She also adds 2.62 digs per set and 0.73 blocks per set.
Olivia Lovenberg and Romoni Vivao are UCSB's setters. Lovenberg averages 6.28 assists per set, while Vivao contributes 4.93.
On the defensive end, libero Zoe Fleck dishes out 3.89 digs per set, while middle blocker Rowan Ennis leads the team with 92 total blocks to average 1.30 per set.
The Series: LBSU vs. UCSB
Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara will meet for the 110th time in program history and the Beach lead the all-time series 71-38. LBSU won the last meeting, 3-2, inside the Walter Pyramid in 2018, but prior to that UCSB took the previous two contests in four.
