Tyler Schafer and Owen Avrit lead the Beach as the duo are tied for ninth place
STOCKTON, Calif. – After two days and 36 holes, Long Beach State sits in third place at the Visit Stockton Pacific Intercollegiate. The Beach are shooting 569 for 7-under par as they are two strokes behind second place BYU and six strokes off of San Jose State which is 13-under par.
The Beach finished the first round in second place, but slipped one spot as BYU moved up from a seventh place tie to second.
Sophomore Tyler Schafer, along with freshman Owen Avrit, are leading Long Beach State as the duo are shooting 2-under par. Schafer finished the first round tied for ninth, but Avrit used a strong second round to move up 31 places after sinking seven birdies in the second round.
Bryce Kvick, meanwhile, dropped from third to tied for 18th place as the sophomore is shooting 1-under par with a 143.
Long Beach State concludes the Visit Stockton Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in the final round at The Reserve at Spanos Park Golf Course.
