Sophomore Bryce Kvick is tied for third, and three LBSU players are in the top 15 after 18 holes

STOCKTON, Calif. – Following the first day at the Visit Stockton Pacific Intercollegiate, Long Beach State is in second place after 18 holes as the Beach are shooting 286 for 2-under par. LBSU is just four strokes behind the first-place San Jose State Spartans.

Individually, the Beach are led by sophomore Bryce Kvick who is tied for third after firing a 69 for 3-under par. Kvick sank half a dozen birdies in the first 18 holes of action and is just five strokes away from moving to the top of the leaderboard.

Sophomore Tyler Schafer and senior Hunter Epson are in the top 15 after the first round. Schafer is shooting 1-under par and is tied for ninth as his first round was highlighted by an eagle of the 16th hole. Epson, meanwhile, shot par with a 72 and tied for 14th place.

The Second Round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Intercollegiate will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 22, with the final round on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
