
Long Beach State Tennis Falls 6-1 Against Loyola Marymount

LONG BEACH – The Long Beach State tennis team went up against a tough opponent in Loyola Marymount and fell by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday at Rhodes Tennis Center.
Freshman Sadaf Sadeghvaziri won her singles match in the No. 5 spot as she recorded the lone point for the Beach. Meanwhile, senior Lena Pacholski went up against No. 22 Veronica Miroshnichenko and played a solid match before falling in three sets.
Loyola Marymount (3-2) won the doubles point to start the day, but Long Beach State (3-4) battled back and evened the score at 1-1 as Sadeghvaziri defeated Anna Romeka 6-2, 6-1 to get things going in singles competition.
The Beach played hard and received a solid performance from Pacholski in singles action as she pushed Miroshnichenko to three sets, but eventually fell by scores of 7-5, 4-6, 6-4. However, LMU would take the remaining five singles matches to hand Long Beach State a 6-1 setback.
Long Beach State will be back at it on Saturday, February 24, when it travels to No. 48 USC for a 4 p.m. contest.
