LBSU Closes Out Season In Sixth At Big West Championship

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Long Beach State junior Jennifer Yu shot an even 72 in Tuesday's final round of the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championship to finish in fifth-place at Oak Quarry Golf Club.
LBSU posted a 298 to final two spots in the team standings to finish the season-ending tournament in sixth with a three-round score of 35-over-par 899.
Cal Poly captured the team title with a 23-over 887, as the Mustangs held off tournament host UC Riverside (+24) by seven shots and third-place Hawai'i (+29) by six strokes.
Yu collected a total of five birdies for the round, while posting two bogeys and one triple bogey. The Huntington Beach, Calif. native finished the tournament at 3-over 219 for her first career top-five finish.
Redshirt freshman Euna Pak shot a 75 to finish in ninth at seven-over 223, recording her first top-10 performance.
Sophomore Haley Tygret carded a 74, tying for 16th at 10-over 226, while freshman Holland Shourds shot a 77, tying for 27th at 15-over 231.
Freshman Maria Davis posted a 79, tying for 39th at 26-over 242.
Martina Edberg of Cal State Fullerton captured individual medalist with a six-under 210, winning by one-shot over Jakeishya Le of UC Riverside.
