LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach State women's tennis was back at home for a Tuesday afternoon matchup with Georgetown, and secured a hard-fought 6-1 win over the visiting Hoyas. The Beach improves to 7-2 with the victory while Georgetown slips to 6-2.

The Beach won the doubles point comfortably, only dropping four games across the three matches. The team of Laura Eales and Lena Pacholski earned a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles, while the other two pairs earned 6-2 victories.

Senior Maeva Razakasoa set the tone at the top of the lineup with a 6-3, 6-0 victory to put the Beach up 2-0 quickly. That was one of two straight-set matches in singles, along with Julie Gerard's 6-4, 7-6 (5) win at the No. 2 spot.

Long Beach State also won at spots 4-6 in the lineup, with three comeback victories. Lena Pacholski dropped a close first set, but dominated the rest of her match in a 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4. Freshman Natalia Munoz and Eales both played very close matches at No. 5 and 6, respectively. Munoz was a 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 winner and Eales came back for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win.

LBSU returns to action with a trip to undefeated Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The next home match for the Beach will be this Saturday at 11 a.m. against San Diego.
