Fryer Takes Fifth Place At Jackrabbit Invitational In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - The Long Beach State men's golf team tied for fourth place after posting a final round score of 5-under-par 283 at the Jackrabbit Invitational at Siena Golf Club.
LBSU moved up three spots in the team standings to tie with South Dakota for the fourth spot, finishing the tournament with an 11-under 853.
Nevada captured the team title at 41-under 823, as the Wolfpack held a seven shot lead over No. 17 UNLV (-34) in second and 14 strokes over Cal State Fullerton (-27) in third.
Redshirt sophomore Joe Fryer was the top player for the 49ers, placing fifth after shooting a 2-under 70 on Saturday. Fryer fell three spots in the standings to finish the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 11-under 205.
Sophomore Andres Gonzalez jumped in the standings by 23 spots after firing a final round 66 that was highlighted by nine birdies, six pars and just three bogeys. Gonzalez finished at 5-under 211.
Freshman Hunter Reed moved up seven positions to tie for 35th after carding another 72 for a 54-hole score of 3-over 219, while senior Agostino Milazzo fell by 20 spots to tie for 42nd at 5-over.
Sophomore Spencer Koch tied for 44th at 6-over.
The Rebels' Justin Kim captured individual medalist with a 13-under 203, winning by one shot over three players tied for second.
The 49ers return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 14, traveling to Dallas, Texas, for the Bob Sitton Invitational at TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas Golf Course.
