FIRST TEE
The Long Beach State women's golf team returns to the greens after a two-week break from competition to host The Gold Rush presented by Tantalum at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, Calif. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday (Feb. 27) with first and second round action, followed by the final 18 holes concluding on Tuesday (Feb. 28). Both days will begin with an 8 a.m. (PT) shotgun start. Old Ranch Country Club will play at a par-72 at 6,115 yards.
GOLD RUSH RETURNS TO SEAL BEACH
This is the sixth edition (not annual) of the Gold Rush hosted by Long Beach State and third consecutive year the tournament will be held at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. The first three Gold Rush's (2011, 2013, 2014) were held at Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda, Calif. The inaugural Gold Rush was scheduled for 2010, but was cancelled due to heavy rains in Southern California that year.
GOLD RUSH FIELD
LBSU will be among a 14-team field at this year's Gold Rush presented by Tantalum. The 49ers will compete with Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Old Miss, San Jose State, Santa Clara, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
49ERS' STARTING FIVE + THREE
Holland Shourds, Maria Davis, Breann Fox, Jennifer Yu and Haley Tygret will represent the Beach at this year's Gold Rush presented by Tantalum. Felicia Taverrite, Sachi Hamada and Euna Pak will compete as individuals for the 49ers.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION
Admission is free to all spectators. The dress code at Old Ranch Country Club is strictly enforced and applies to all coaches, players, staff and spectators (this applies to the practice facilities as well). Those that are not in compliance may be asked to leave the premises. No jeans, cargo shorts and/or flip flops.
TANTALUM NAMED PRESENTING SPONSOR OF THE GOLD RUSH
Tantalum restaurant of Long Beach has signed on to be the presenting sponsor of the year's Gold Rush tournament at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. "We are so pleased to introduce Tantalum Restaurant as our title sponsor of the 2017 Gold Rush," said head coach Joey Cerulle. "They continue to support Long Beach State Athletics by enhancing our tournament into one of the best around. Tantalum is a hidden treasure in the City of Long Beach, much like our women's golf team. LAST YEAR AT THE GOLD RUSH
LBSU finished in third-place at last year's Gold Rush at Old Ranch Country Club as the 49ers completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 26-over-par 890. The Beach finished nine shots behind second-place Fresno State (+17) and 25 strokes behind team champion and top-ranked USC (+1). Sophomore Haley Tygret led the way for the 49ers, tying for 12th at 6-over 222.
LAST TIME OUT
The 49ers are coming off from an 11th place finish at the 22nd Peg Barnard Invitational at Stanford Golf Course. LBSU completed the two-day, 36-hole tournament at 43-over-par 611, edging last place San Francisco (+55) by 17 shots. Freshman Holland Shourds was the top player for the Beach, tying for 24th with an 8-over 150.
TEARE NAMED ASSISTANT COACH
Former LBSU standout and 2016 Big West Conference Women's Golfer of the Year Kassidy Teare was named assistant coach for the Beach. Teare graduated from LBSU this past season after completing her four-year career at the Beach. The Vista, Calif. native is only the second women's golfer in program history to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Tournament two years in a row as former 49er All-American Kay Hoey qualified in 2005 as a freshman and 2007 as a junior. Teare received at-large bids to the NCAA St. George Regional last year in St. George, Utah and to the NCAA Stanford Regional this past year.

COMING ATTRACTIONS
The 49ers return to action on Monday, Mar. 6, hosting the fourth Black & Blue Rivalry Match versus UC Irvine on Monday, Mar. 6 at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. The 49ers came away with its third consecutive Black & Blue Rivalry title last year, defeating the Anteaters by two points at Strawberry Farms Golf Club in Irvine.
