
LBSU Completes Day One At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - The Long Beach State women's golf team recorded an opening round score of 309 to finish day one of the 22nd Peg Barnard Invitational in 11th place at Stanford Golf Course.
Tournament host and top-ranked Stanford leads the field of 12 teams with a 2-over-par 286 as the Cardinal holds a six-shot lead over No. 43 Oregon (+8) in second and a six-stroke lead over No. 39 Colorado (+9) in third.
Freshman Holland Shourds was the top player for the 49ers, shooting a 76 to tie for 27th.
Sophomore Breann Fox sits just one stroke behind with a 77, tied for 33rd, followed by freshman Maria Davis and sophomore Haley Tygret tied for 41st after carding a 78.
Junior Felicia Taverrite is 60th at 19-over.
The Cardinal's Andrea Lee sits on top of the leaderboard of 60 players with a 4-under 67, holding a three-shot lead over the Buffaloes' Robyn Choi (-1).
Final round play concludes on Sunday with an 8:30 a.m. (PT) shotgun start. LBSU will be paired with San Francisco and Washington.
