No. 7 Long Beach State Dominates LMU In Win

Los Angeles, Calif. — In a show of offensive power, No. 7 Long Beach States cruised to a 20-6 win against Loyola Marymount Wednesday afternoon.

Austin Stewart led the team with five goals on five shots to finish the afternoon with a perfect shooting percentage.

LBSU (13-11) spread the ball around in the first quarter taking a 5-2 lead. Stewart netted a first-quarter hat trick. Junior Austin Stevenson and sophomore Nemanja Bakic each chipped in a goal in the first period.

In the second quarter, the Beach scored six goals to roll to a 11-5 halftime lead. Stevenson scored twice to complete the hat trick.

The offense wasn't done there as they outscored LMU 5-1 in the third quarter to take a 16-6 lead heading into the fourth.

In the final frame, the Beach shutout the Lions while scoring four goals to take the win.

The Beach will now prepare for their final regular season game when they travel to No. 6 UC Irvine Friday.
