
LBSU Takes Ninth Place At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Senior Jennifer Yu and sophomore Maria Davis tied for 20th place at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, leading Long Beach State to ninth at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
LBSU posted a team high 298 in Tuesday's final round, finishing with a three-round score of 19-over-par 883.
Tournament host UNLV captured the team title with a 17-under 847, as the Rebels won by 10 shots over second-place San Jose State at 7-under.
Yu carded a 73 with two birdies and 13 pars, while Davis who was playing as an individual for LBSU, posted a 72 with two birdies and 15 pars.
Sophomore Holland Shourds shot a 74 for the third straight round, tying for 38th at 6-over.
Junior Cara Barker shot a 74 to finish with an 8-over 224, tying for 49th, while fellow classmate Haley Tygret finished one stroke behind at 8-over, carding a final round 79.
Redshirt sophomore Euna Pak carded a 77 for a 11-over 227, tying for 63rd.
The Rebels' Elizabeth Prior captured individual medalist with a 16-under 200, as Prior won by 10 strokes over two players tied for second at 6-under.
LBSU returns to action on Monday, Oct. 30, taking part in the two-day UC Irvine Invitational at Santa Ana Country Club.
