
Long Beach State Tennis Continues Play at Southwest Regional

SAN DIEGO -- On the third day of the 2017 ITA Southwest Regional, Long Beach State tennis picked up three singles victories behind solid outings by Lena Pacholski, Natalia Munoz and Georgia Gulin.
The trio of Beach student-athletes got things going in the singles draw as Pacholski started the day off with 7-6 (1) and 6-2 wins over USC's Madison Westby. Following suit, Munoz took the court and defeated San Diego's Carolin Nonnenmacher by set scores of 6-4 and 6-3. Rounding out the LBSU victories on day three was Gulin who held off CSUN's Mari Taslagyan with a 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Teammates Lalita Devarkonda, Sadaf Sadeghvaziri and Carlota Casasampere suffered losses against UC Santa Barbara's Amanda Atansson, UC Irvine's Arianna Tilbury and San Diego's Sophia Chow, respectively.
The Beach saw their three doubles pairs of Munoz/Pacholski, Gulin/Casasampere, and Sadeghvaziri/Devarakonda drop sets to Loyola Marymount, UCLA and Pepperdine, respectively.
Long Beach State will be back in action at the CSUN Fall Tournament beginning Friday, November 10.
