FIRST TEE
Long Beach State senior Daniel Chian travels to Arizona for the NCAA Tucson Regional at The Gallery Golf Club (par-72, 7,258-yards) in Marana, Ariz. The three-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday (May 16) with opening round action, followed by second round play on Tuesday (May 17) and the final 18 holes concluding on Wednesday (May 18).

Senior Daniel Chian will have a 9:01 a.m. (PT) tee time for Monday's opening round from the first tee. He will be paired with players from UC Riverside and Siena College.

ROAD TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 16-18. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 27-June 1 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon. The University of Oregon is the host institution for the 2016 championships.
MAKING HISTORY
Chian became the first LBSU men's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Tournament as an individual since 2006, when former 49er Ryan Wood competed as an individual at the NCAA West Regional at the Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.
CHIAN NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-BIG WEST
Chian, was named to the All-Big West First Team for his performance this season. The Covina, Calif. native captured two tournament titles (Folino and Anteater Invitationals) this past season, while leading the 49ers to two team titles (Bob Sitton and Anteater Invitationals). Chian posted six top-five finishes for the year and was named Big West Men's Golfer of the Month for September and October. Last season, Chian was named Honorable Mention and in 2013 was named Big West Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Big West.
