Long Beach State Drops Two Pairs Matches At Aloha Invitational

Honolulu, Hawaii - Long Beach State lost two pairs matches Thursday night to open play at the Outrigger Resorts Aloha Invitational in Honolulu.
Rachel Nieto and Nele Barber, along with Jenelle Hudson and Zoi Konstantopolou, each played in the opening rounds of pairs play.
With each LBSU pair playing in the semifinals against Grand Canyon, it was the Antelopes that picked up the wins.
Nieto and Barber opened their match with a 21-15 first set victory over Mackenzie Phelps and Shannon Dugan, but were unable to hand on in a 15-21, 21-16, 15-11 loss to the Grand Canyon No. 1 team. Hudson and Konstantopoulou also took a defeat, falling 21-15, 21-16 to Molly Turner and Aleksandra Wachowicz.
Long Beach State continues play in the Aloha Invitational tomorrow.
