Long Beach, Calif. -

Long Beach State will get a second crack at the defending champions this week, as the Beach travels to No. 3 USC after falling to the Trojans 3-2 earlier this season. That match kicks off a full slate for LBSU, who host Nebraska on Thursday before holding a three-way dual match with Cal and LMU on Friday.
No. 6 Long Beach State will play four dual matches this week, starting with a true road match at No. 3 USC. LBSU and USC played a tight 3-2 match earlier in the Pepperdine Invitational to open the season. The Long Beach State pairs of Rachel Nieto/Kobi Pekich and Megan Kruidhof/Morea Wagner each grabbed wins over USC, while Jenelle Hudson and Ciana Wagner pushed Allie Wheeler and Nicolette Martin to three sets in what would prove to be the deciding match.
Then on Friday, the LBSU Sand Courts will be busy for a three-way dual match beginning at 10 a.m. The day will start as the 49ers play Cal at 10 a.m., and then LMU will face the Golden Bears at Noon before the Beach is back in action against the Lions at 2 p.m. in the afternoon.
