Robison, Shelton Lead Beach Throws Squad at Ben Brown Invitational

FULLERTON, Calif. - Senior Kody Robison led the Long Beach State throws squad at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton on Friday.
Robison won the men's hammer with a personal-record 208-00, which ranks fourth among LBSU's all-time top-10. He has won the event in all three meets this season.
Junior Robert Marlow was the runner-up with a then lifetime-best 199-05 as he topped that mark with the fifth-best throw in school history (203-10) at Saturday's Anteater 4-Way Meet.
Junior James Hubbard had another strong performance, placing fourth at 195-08, while freshman Nicholas Hudson was 10th (170-08).
Senior Marina Shelton led the women with a runner-up finish. She had a toss of 181-07, while classmate Fatima Vergara hit 177-04 to place fourth overall.
Seniors Brianna Viltz (154-01) and Chaylene Bruggeman (152-10) also came in sixth and seventh, respectively. Junior Shelby Crider added a top-10 showing as she was ninth with a mark of 137-04.
