Chian Captures Individual Medalist At Folino Invitational

INDUSTRY, Calif. - Long Beach State senior Daniel Chian fired a two-under-par 70 in Tuesday's final round of the Folino Invitational at Industry Hills Golf Club, capturing individual medalist.
This marked Chian's second career tournament victory and third top-10 finish this year. Chian captured his first tournament win in 2013 at the Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley.
Chian's scorecard was highlighted by four birdies, two bogeys and 12 pars
LBSU posted a team low 291 to move up one spot to finish in second-place at 22-over 886. The 49ers finished 12 shots behind team champion Samford (+10).
Senior Michael Chen carded a 72 to tie for ninth at five-over 221, while freshman Patrick Pockels shot a 78 to tie for 30th at 14-over 230.
Junior Jonny Hogan shot an 82 to place 45th at 22-over
Juniors Tanner Dice and Joe Fryer, playing as individuals, tied for 25th and 30th respectively. Dice posted a 78 to finish at 12-over, while Fryer recorded a 71 to finish at 14-over.
The 49ers return to action Feb. 29-Mar. 1, hosting the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.
