Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State Athletics has announced that Tiffany Edlin has been hired as the Assistant Athletics Director in charge of business operations. Edlin will be in charge of the athletics department's financial affairs while also reporting to the university at large regarding athletics expenditures.
"We are very excited to have Tiffany Edlin join the Beach family," stated Interim Athletics Director Cindy Masner. "Tiffany has vast experience in Athletics and University Advancement as well as the CSU. Her addition to our staff makes us stronger as we continue to move our department forward. Tiffany will be a great resource for our coaches and staff and make an immediate impact."
Edlin comes with an excellent background in working with both university financials as well as within athletics. She has spent the past three years as the primary fiscal officer of University Advancement at Cal State Dominguez Hills, where she was responsible for the management of a $4.2 million budget.
Over that period, she implemented professional development opportunities for her entire division while coordinating budget policy and processes for 10 departments at CSUDH.
Prior to that, Edlin worked as the business manager for the athletics department at Cal State Dominguez Hills, where she managed the department budget in support of the Toros scholarship, fundraising and operations efforts. While working with the CSUDH athletic department, Edlin also served on nearly 20 hiring committees, renewed coaches' contracts annually and managed a staff of 30 student workers while also coordinating the Toros Annual Scholarship Golf Classic.
A 2008 graduate of Cal State Dominguez Hills, Edlin began her career in athletics as a marketing and promotions coordinator with the Toros athletic department before taking on a more business focused role within the department. She was also a student-athlete with the Toros, competing in women's volleyball.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that Dominguez Hills has provided me in both my education and experience to lead me to this point," said Edlin. "I'm very honored to be part of the Beach team and look forward to supporting all the efforts of the business operations staff for athletics as well as the university at large."
