Teare Takes Eighth Place At Big West Conference Championship

EL MACERO, Calif. - Long Beach State recorded a 301 in Tuesday's final round of the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championship at El Macero Country Club to finish the 2014-15 season tied for third place.
LBSU was the only team to move up in the eight-team standings after posting the second best score of the day to move one spot up to tie with UC Riverside. The 49ers completed the three-day tournament at 42-over-par 906.
Tournament host No. 22 UC Davis captured the team title for the sixth consecutive year with a six-under 858, as the Aggies won by 29 shots over second-place Hawai'i (+23).
Cal Poly placed fifth at 50-over, followed by Cal State Fullerton in sixth at 53-over and UC Irvine finished in seventh at 62-over. CSUN finished in the eighth and final spot at 75-over.
Junior Kassidy Teare was the top player for LBSU placing eighth, as she carded her best round of the tournament with a 73 that was highlighted by three birdies and 11 pars.
Junior Shawnee Martinez posted a 75 to finish in 13th at 10-over 226, while senior Chaewon Park tied for 18th after shooting a 78 to finish at 14-over.
Junior Janelle Sua recorded a 78 to tie for 20th at 15-over 231.
Redshirt freshman Savannah Knox posted her best score of the championship, making a seven stroke improvement with a 75 to tie for 32nd at 21-over 237.
The Aggies' Andrea Wong won individual medalist honors with an eight-under 208, as she led the field of 40 players by five shots over Raquel Ek of Hawai'i.
