
LBSU Takes 10th Place At Silverado Showdown In Napa

NAPA, Calif. - The Long Beach State women's golf team closed out the regular-season with a 10th place finish at the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Resort & Spa.
LBSU posted a team best 302 in Tuesday's final round at the par-72, 6,253-yard North Course. The 49ers improved by seven shots from Monday's second round to move up one spot in the 15-team field.
Tournament co-host No. 32 Oregon captured the team title with a 25-over 889 as the Ducks won by one shot over second-place Oregon State (+26) and two shots over fellow co-hosts No. 39 Colordo (+27).
Senior Chaewon Park, junior Kassidy Teare and redshirt freshman Savannah Knox tied for 32nd at 13-over 229. Park and Teare recorded their best rounds of the tournament, shooting a 73 jumping by 15 spots in the standings. Knox shot a high round of 78 to fall from 23rd.
Junior Shawnee Martinez carded another 78 to fall 12 spots in the standings tying for 47th at 17-over 233.
Junior Janelle Sua posted a high round of 86 to tie for 73rd at 33-over 249.
Lucia Gutierrez of California won individual medalist with a 4-under 212, holding off the Buffalos' Esther Lee (-1) by three shots.
LBSU returns to action Apr. 19-21 for the Big West Conference Women's Golf Championship hosted by UC Davis at El Macero Country Club in El Macero.
