LBSU Men Among Top-Five in USTFCCCA West Region Rankings

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's track & field team came in at No. 5 in the latest USTFCCCA West Region Rankings which were released on Monday afternoon.
The Beach was the highest ranked Big West school as it followed four Pac-12 programs - No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 USC, No. 3 Arizona and No. 4 Cal. The 49ers were also in front of a handful of schools from the Pac-12 including UCLA (6th), Stanford (7th), Arizona State (8th) and Washington (9th).
LBSU has four individuals ranked among the top-25 in the nation in their respective events. Leading the way is junior All-American Willie Alexander, who is sixth in the long jump with his season-best of 25-02. Alexander was the 2014 NCAA runner-up. Also among the top-10 is senior All-American Chris Low, who sits at No. 9 in the 800-meter (1:47.56).
Long Beach State will be in action this week at the Mt. SAC Relays, while it will also host the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College, April 17-18.
