49ers In Eighth After Two Rounds At Bill Cullum Invitational

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch Golf Club, the Long Beach State men's golf team is currently in eighth-place.
LBSU posted an opening round 283 to finish in fourth, but fell four spots in the standings in the second round after recording a 296.
Loyola Marymount leads the field of 16 teams at 17-under 559 as the Lions hold a three-shot lead over second-place Seattle (-14) and five stroke lead over Santa Clara (-12) in third.
Junior Jonny Hogan was the top player for the 49ers, tying for 17th after shooting rounds of 70 and 72 to finish day one at two-under 142.
Senior Daniel Chian finished one shot behind at one-under (73-70) tying for 21st, while fellow classmate Kevin Lee tied for 34th at two-over 146 (70-76).
Senior Michael Chen is tied for 61st at six-over 150 (70-80), while freshman Patrick Pockels tied for 79th at 10-over (76-78).
Freshman Spencer Koch, playing as an individual for the 49ers, is tied for 55th at five-over 149.
Joe Harvie of Seattle sits on top of the leaderboard with a 10-under 134, leading the field of 92 players by three shots over Zach Smith of UC Santa Barbara.
Final round play concludes on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, with the 49ers paired with Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara and Utah State.
