
49ers Start Off Season With A Bang

Long Beach State completed their opening meet of the Lumberjack Team Challenge this Saturday at Northern Arizona University's J L Walkup Skydome.
It was an impressive start to the season as many 49ers notched personal bests or established their place in the Long Beach State Indoor All-Time Top 10 list.
Senior Cameron Glasgow led the Beach in the 60m finishing in second place with an altitude adjusted time of 6.99, which ranks seventh overall in indoor school history. Dylan McClosky placed fifth with a 7.06 altitude adjusted time. Koree Hines finished with a personal best 7.13 altitude adjusted time.
Devin Hickey placed fourth in the 60m hurdles with an altitude adjusted time of 8.30 to finish eighth overall in LBSU history.
In the 400m, Perez-Rogers led the way for LBSU to place 2nd with a 48.27 altitude adjusted time. This mark is a personal best and lands him in 10th overall in indoor school history.
Ryan Sanders also made history in both the long jump and triple jump. Sanders finished 3rd in the long jump (22-11.25) to place 10th overall in school history, and finished first in the meet (50-08) to notch 4th overall in the triple jump.
Jacob Fraser and Victor Martin took second and third in the shot put, both earning personal bests and a place in school history. Fraser finished second (55-07) to place sixth overall in the record books, while Martin finished third (54-07.25) to place eighth overall.
The men's weight throw also showed success with the 49ers taking the one and two spots. Kody Robison finished first (57-01), which was a personal best for him and an eighth overall spot in the LBSU record books. Robert Marlow finished second (56-10.25) to finished 10th overall.
For the women, Kayla Goosby finished seventh in the meet with an altitude adjusted time of 7.84 to place eighth overall in school history.
Jasmine Askew finished third in the 400m dash with an altitude adjusted time of 57.95 to place 10th overall in school history.
Freshman Elijah McDonald had an impressive first outing earning a spot in LBSU's top-10 list in the 60m hurdles with a third place finish in the meet (8.77 altitude adjusted time) and a fourth place spot in school history.
Amber Britt (11-06.25) and Jodi Lambert (11-00.25) both posted personal bests in the pole vault. Andrea Yancy also posted a lifetime-best in the triple jump at 36-00.75. Taylor Jackson finished in first place in the long jump at 19.00-75 to place third overall in the record books.
The women's weight throw had the best outing of the meet with all three 49ers earning a spot in school history and new personal bests.
Fatima Vergara finished second in the meet (62-05) and now holds the number one spot in LBSU history. Marina Shelton placed third at 60-08.50 to place second overall in the record books. Chaylene Bruggeman finished in 7th (52-04.75), but tied for 10th overall in school history.
Ten 49ers earned personal bests in this meet, while 15 athletes notched a spot in LBSU's indoor record books.
The Beach continues its indoor season at the Husky Classic for a two-day meet at Seattle, Wash. on Feb. 13 and 14.
