Women's Basketball Season Tickets Now On Sale

LONG BEACH - 2014-15 women's basketball season tickets are now on sale. Mini plans and special plans will be released for purchase in mid-October.
Sixth-year head coach Jody Wynn's squad will host 16 games at the Walter Pyramid this season, including the annual Beach Classic (Dec. 19-20), along with visits from 2014 NCAA Tournament teams USC, LSU and California.
"This preseason schedule will bring a lot of excitement to our Beach fans as we host some great teams from across the country," Wynn said. "It is a balance of very competitive games both on the road and at home in the Pyramid that will challenge our team and help prepare us for Big West Conference play and the postseason. We like to give our student-athletes the opportunity to compete against some of the best programs in the country and this year is no different."
The Beach will open the campaign at the Walter Pyramid on Friday, Nov. 14, when they play host to Seattle University at noon.

Long Beach State returns seven letterwinners and three starters from last year's squad that went 17-15 overall and advanced to the Big West Tournament quarterfinals. The 2013-14 campaign marked the program's first winning season in nine years. It was also the most victories by a squad in the Jody Wynn era, as the 49ers improved on a 16-16 mark in 2012-13.
LBSU welcomes back its top two scorers in sophomore guard Raven Benton (12.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg) and senior guard Lauren Spargo (10.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg). Benton was named to the Big West All-Freshman Team, while Spargo was an All-Big West honorable mention selection last year.
Also back for their senior campaigns are guards Alex Sanchez (9.7 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.8 apg) and Hallie Meneses (8.2 ppg, 4.3 apg).
In addition, Long Beach State returns sophomores Anna Kim (7.7 ppg, 2.2 apg), Madison Montgomery (6.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg) and Jewelyn Sawyer (4.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg), while Bianka Balthazar, Chantel Dooley and Devin Hudson are all coming off a redshirt season.
Joining The Beach in 2014-15 will be transfers Thaddesia Southall and Gigi Hascheff, and freshmen Jessica Gertz and Cecily Wilson.
