LONG BEACH, Calif. - Sophomore Joy Miley pounded out 15 kills as the Long Beach State women's volleyball team made quick work of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a 25-15, 25-22, 25-14 sweep. The Beach (7-3) hit .288 as a team and held the Islanders (4-6) to a .093 hitting percentage.

It was all Beach in the first set with a .333 attack. Okpala knocked down seven of her 13 kills in the set to lead the attack. The Islanders challenged more in the second set as LBSU fell out of its rhythm. Brianna Brink had six of her 10 kills in the set and led her team to a lead for most of the set.
The Islanders led as late as 21-18 before the Beach came back with a four-point run. An Okpala kill started the run and back-to-back kills by Miley put the Beach on top. The Islanders scored their last point on an Ashley Phelps kills before LBSU scored the last three points of the set to come away with the lead.
The third set again belonged to the Beach as the 49ers hit .406 as a team and ran away with the win.
