LBSU Track & Field Featured in USTFCCCA Rankings

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's track & field team was eighth, while the women came in at No. 16 in the latest USTFCCCA West Region rankings released on Tuesday.
The 49er men were the highest-ranked Big West program and also finished ahead of Pac-12 members Arizona and Stanford. In addition, LBSU was among the top-half of the nationally-ranked teams at No. 82.
According to the NCAA Division I West Outdoor Qualifying list on TFRRS (Track & Field Results Reporting System), The Beach has 11 marks that rank among the top-30 in the region. Chris Low is third in the 800m where he established a school-record 1:48.3, while Willie Alexander is seventh in the long jump (25-05.25).
Jason Harrell owns the ninth-best mark in the discus at 191-09, and is closely followed by Jacob Fraser at No. 12 (189-05). Fraser is also 20th in the shot put (58-07.5). Adam Bianchessi (Javelin) and Michael Perez-Rogers (400m) both rank 17th in their respective events, while Davon Wilson-Angel (110H, 22nd), Kody Robison (Hammer, 23rd) and Koree Hines (110H, 26th) round out the group. In addition, Dylan McCloskey, Cameron Glasgow, Jahmani Lockett and Perez-Rogers sit at No. 24 in the 4x400 relay.
On the women's side, Tiffany Forbito is 22nd in the javelin (157-04), Kayla Kamaka is 25th in the pole vault (13-01.5) and Fatima Vergara is 27th in the hammer (192-02).
Long Beach State was also featured in the latest Track & Field News Dual Meet Rankings (April 15). The men were 10th, while the women were 21st.
