
49ers Tied For 10th After Second Round In Kapalua

KAPALUA, Hawai'i - After two rounds of play at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, the Long Beach State women's golf team is tied for 10th place after posting a 306 at the Kapalua Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui.
LBSU improved by three shots from its opening round score of 309 to record a two round score of 39-over-par 615. Tournament host Hawai'i is tied with the 49ers as both teams are one stroke behind Fresno State (+38) in ninth and five shots behind Oregon State (+34) in eighth.
Fifteenth-ranked Pepperdine leads the field of 15 teams with a 1-over 577 as the Waves holds a three-stroke lead over No. 10 Washington (+4) in second and 17 shots over No. 37 UC Davis (+18) in third.
Senior Rochelle Chan, junior Chaewon Park and sophomore Kassidy Teare led the way for LBSU as all three 49ers are tied for 32nd at 9-over 153. Chan posted a three-shot improvement for a 75 to jump in the standings from 45th after Monday's opening round after recording four birdies for the round on Tuesday. Park and Teare carded a 77.
Sophomores Janelle Sua and Shawnee Martinez are tied for 56th at 14-over 158. Sua posted a four-shot improvement with a 77 with three birdies and nine pars, while Martinez shot a 79 with one birdie and 11 pars.
The Waves Grace Na, ranked 27th by Golfstat, sits on top of the leaderboard at 8-under 136, leading the field of 88 players by six shots over two players tied for second.
Final round play concludes on Wednesday morning with a 7:45 shotgun start with the 49ers paired with Fresno State, Hawai'i and Cal Poly.
