SANTA ANA, Calif. - Long Beach State shot a 296 in Tuesday's final round of the UC Irvine Invitational presented by KIA, finishing in third-place.

Despite turning in their best score of the tournament and improving by three shots from Monday's second round, it wasn't enough to catch tournament host UC Irvine as the Anteaters placed second. LBSU completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament at 50-over par 914, finishing seven shots behind the Anteaters (+43).

No. 57 Gonzaga captured the team title with a 21-over 885 as the Bulldogs won their second consecutive tournament after winning the Folino Invitational last week and finishing in second at the Gold Rush in Yorba Linda two weeks ago.

Freshman Kassidy Teare led the way for LBSU, shooting a final round 76 to tie for fifth at 7-over 223 to record her first career top-10 finish. Teare began the round 2-under through the first three holes until recording three bogeys on the next five. She would finish the front-nine at 1-over until getting back to even after birding No. 11. Teare finished the last seven remaining holes collecting two more bogeys, one birdie and one double-bogey on the 18th.

Sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti, playing as an individual, continued with her consistent performance, shooting a 74 to finish at 9-over 225 to tie for eighth. This was Salotti's best career finish as a 49er as she tied for 10th at last year's Anteater Invitational.

Senior Simone Hoey carded her best round of the tournament with a 71 to finish at 10-over 226, tying for 10th. This was Hoey's second top-10 finish this year and ninth overall.

Freshman Shawnee Martinez placed 23rd, shooting a 74 to finish at 16-over, while junior Rochelle Chan turned in a 76 to tie for 25th at 18-over.

Sophomore Chaewon Park (+23) shot a 75, tying for 40th.

Freshman Janelle Sua (+20) and junior Ashley Greer (+23), playing as individuals, tied for 30th and 40th respectively.

Alice Kim on Gonzaga claimed individual medalist honors with her 1-under 215, winning by four strokes over Amy Anderson of North Dakota State.

LBSU returns to action March 4-5, taking part in the Bruin Wave Invitational hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine at the El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana.
