LAS VEGAS - Shawnee Martinez fired a 2-under-par 70 in Tuesday's final round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown to tie for fifth-place and lead Long Beach State to eighth in the final tournament of the fall season.

Monday's second round was cancelled due to gusty high winds that was taking place all day in the Las Vegas area as the tournament was shortened to 36-holes.

LBSU posted a final round score of 295, a two-shot improvement from Sunday's opening round of 297. The 49ers closed out the tournament with a 36-hole score of 16-over 592, finishing three strokes ahead of No. 34-ranked Denver (+19) tied for 10th and two-shots behind No. 37 Wisconsin (+14) in seventh.

Forty-eighth ranked San Diego State (+3) claimed the team championship by two-shots over No. 23 UCF, Texas Tech and tournament host UNLV (+5) tied for second. Minnesota (+10) finished in fifth, followed by UC Irvine (+13) in sixth.

Martinez's scorecard was nearly picture-perfect as she recorded a total of three birdies, 14 pars and just one bogey. The sophomore from Modesto was bogey-free through her first 12 holes as she started the morning from the par-4 No. 9. Martinez's only bogey of the round came at the par-3 No. 3 hole as that brought her back to 1-under. With five holes remaining, she quickly got back on track with her third birdie of the day to go back to 2-under as she closed out with four consecutive pars.

Martinez's performance in Las Vegas marked her second top-10 this year and third overall.

Junior Ashley Greer turned in one of her best performances as a 49er, posting a career low 72 to tie for 35th at 5-over 149. Greer carded a five-stroke improvement from her opening round of 77 on Sunday. In Greer's final round, she collected four birdies on 11 pars, while making just two bogeys and one double-bogey.

Junior Chaewon Park shot a 76 to tie for 40th with a 6-over 150, followed by sophomore Kassidy Teare carding a 79 to tie for 51st at 8-over.

Senior Rochelle Chan recorded a five-shot improvement with a 77 to tie for 82nd at 15-over.

Sophomore Janelle Sua, playing as an individual, shot a 76 to finish at 8-over, tying for 51st.

San Diego State's Sirene Blair (-6) won individual medalist by two shots over Ashley Holder (-4) of UCF.

LBSU is now idle for the next three and half months as the 49ers will open the spring season at the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford, Feb. 15-16, at the Stanford Golf Course.
