TARZANA, Calif. - Long Beach State recorded a 36-over-par 324 in Tuesday's final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational at the El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana to tie for ninth place with Wisconsin.

LBSU finished the 54-hole tournament at 94-over 958. Tournament co-host No. 22-ranked Pepperdine edged out co-host and top-ranked UCLA by two-strokes with a 39-over 903.

Senior Monica Villarreal was the top player for the 49ers as she carded a final round 80 to finish at 21-over 237, tying for 36th. Villarreal recorded two birdies and nine pars for the round, while making five bogeys and two double-bogeys.

Junior Simone Hoey and sophomore Rochelle Chan tied for 40th. Hoey carded her lowest round of the tournament with a 77, while Chan turned in her highest round with an 88. Both players finished at 23-over 239.

Freshman Chaewon Park (+27) moved up 10 spots in the standings to tie for 46th after shooting a 79 for a three-day total of 243.

Senior Noelle Zavaleta fell seven positions as she finished in 75th after carding a high round of 89 to finish at 43-over.

Christine Wong of San Diego State won individual medalist with a 3-over 219, winning by four shots over Alina Ching of Pepperdine.

LBSU returns to the course Mar. 18-20, traveling down south for The Battle at Rancho Bernardo Inn hosted by San Diego State.
