Los Angeles, Calif. - Senior Anais Dallara won two matches over ranked opponents to advance to the Round of 16 in pre-qualifying at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday.

Dallara was Long Beach State's lone invite to the prestigious tournament, classified as one of college tennis' four "majors" on the year. Dallara began the day with a victory over Georgia's Lilly Kimbrell, winning a close set 7-5 before advancing to the Round of 32 with a 6-2 second set victory over the No. 123 player in the nation.

In the Round of 32, Dallara continued her winning ways by topping #121 of Tulane, Mariam Kurdadze by a 6-4, 6-3 margin. With the win, the 49ers star advanced to the Round of 16, and will play at Noon on Sunday, October 2 in the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Dallara's record in 2011 now stands at 5-1, with two wins over ranked opponents and her only loss coming at the UNLV Invitational to another ranked foe.
