LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State women's basketball team topped Pacific, 73-60, for its second consecutive Big West victory Thursday evening at the Walter Pyramid.

Long Beach State (5-17, 3-6 BWC) jumped out to a 12-4 lead following a jumper by Ella Clark at the 15:19 mark. The 49ers continued to roll from there, using a 16-5 spurt, capped by a Jacob 3-pointer, to go up 27-9 with 11:42 to play. Pacific would cut the deficit to 13 before LBSU scored seven unanswered points to take a 38-18 advantage with 4:28 on the clock.
The 49ers stayed out front by a comfortable margin and owned a 49-26 cushion at the break.
LBSU shot a blistering 57.7 percent from the floor in the first half. Jacob led the way with 22 points and four boards.
Long Beach State stayed hot in the second period, as it led by at least 19 points until Pacific went on an 8-2 run to pull within 15 (59-44) at the 11-minute mark. The 49ers kept their composure, however, using an 11-3 spurt to go back up, 69-47.
