Five Dirtbags off for summer baseball

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State will have five players joining summer collegiate baseball leagues over the summer to continue playing baseball. Follow the players throughout the summer here at www.longbeachstate.com
Sophomores Andrew Gagnon and Kirk Singer will both be playing in the prestigious Cape Cod wood bat league. Both players will be playing for the Brewster Whitecaps, following the lead of a number of previous Dirtbag players.
Also heading east will be Brennan Metzger, who is on the roster for the Northshore Navigators of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Metzger may sit out the season however to rest various injuries.
Two freshman will also be playing ball over the summer. Juan Avila will be playing for the La Crosse Loggers of the Northwoods League, while Matt Duffy will head to Corvallis, Ore. to play for the Knights of the West Coast league.
