49er track and field moves up in national team rankings

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach State men's track and field team moved up 32 spots in the national rankings to No. 58 following a strong performance at the Big West Conference Championships last weekend.
The 49ers were the highest ranked Big West school, coming in ahead of UC Irvine (No. 68), UC Santa Barbara (No. 69) and Cal State Northridge (No. 76).
The LBSU women were also ranked 75th in the nation. The Beach received the second-highest ranking among Big West schools as they came in behind only UC Santa Barbara (No. 32).
Long Beach State returns to action next weekend when it heads to Austin, Texas, for the NCAA West Regional Championships, May 28-29.
