Men's golf travel to Triumph at Pauma Valley

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. - The Long Beach State men's golf team travels to Pauma Valley as they take part in the Triumph at Pauma Valley hosted by the University of San Francisco. Thirty-six holes will be played on Monday, Mar. 15 at the par-71, 7,077 yard Pauma Valley Counry Club and the final round concluding on Tuesday, Mar. 16. Live action can be followed on golfstat.com.
The 49ers will be among a 12-team field that features Air Force, Army, British Columbia, Campbell, Central Arkansas, Columbia, Hartford, Jackson State, Loyola Marymount, Portland and San Francisco.
Last year, LBSU finished in fourth place (out of 12 teams) with a 28-over 880 (307-282-291), finishing just one-stroke behind tournament host USF and eight strokes behind second place British Columbia. Loyola Marymount took the team title with an 856 (+4).
The 49ers had three players finish in the top 20 at last year's tournament as senior Michael Drake led the way for The Beach as he tied for 10th with a five-over 218 (73-70-75), followed by sophomore Kevin Lim (220) tied for 14th and senior Steve Gibson (222) tied for 19th.
