RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Long Beach State women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games as the 49ers (9-3-2, 2-0-1 Big West) rolled past UC Riverside (1-10-2, 0-3-0 Big West) 3-0 on Friday evening at UCR Soccer Stadium.

Senior Karina Camacho and juniors Nicole Hubbard and Jazz Strozier scored one goal a piece for LBSU, all coming in the second half. Camacho and Hubbard recorded their first goals of the season.

LBSU dented the scoreboard in the 52nd minute as Hubbard received a pass from Shawna Gordon for the first goal of the game. At the 64th minute, Camacho scored off a rebound to give the 49ers a 2-0 cushion.

Strozier finished off the scoring in the 74th minute to secure the 3-0 victory.

The 49ers would not let UCR anywhere near the net all night long as Emily Kingsborough had four saves. LBSU recorded a total of 18 shots with nine on goal. The Highlanders tallied eight shots for the game.

Long Beach State dominated the scoreless first half, outshooting the Highlanders 9-to-3. The Beach had several chances on goal, as Bullock's two attempts came close. Her first shot came at the nine-minute mark, but was just wide and two minutes later her header off a corner kick from Nicole Sweetman was saved by UCR goalie Jessica White.

"Riverside is very tough defensively," 49er head coach Mauricio Ingrassia said. "Not an easy game by any means, so it feels good to have solved it convincingly the way we did. We received key contributions from many players. It was a good win on the road."

The 49ers return to action on Sunday, Oct. 17, as they travel to Cal State Fullerton for a 7 p.m. Big West contest.
