49ers sign Rochelle Chan for 2010-11 season

LONG BEACH - First year Long Beach State women's golf coach Joey Cerulle has announced the signing of Rochelle Chan to a National Letter of Intent. Chan will enroll at LBSU in the fall of 2010.
"We are excited to have Rochelle next year," said Cerulle. "Her abilities on the golf course are going to help elevate our team to continue the success of 49er golf."
Chan, a 5'3" senior at Torrance High, helped the Tartars capture the CIF State Championship in November and finished in third place at the CIF Southern Section Individual Finals at Talega Golf Course in San Clemente.
Chan will have an immediate impact to the 49ers, in which it returns six experienced players for the 2010-11 campaign.
The 49ers open the spring season on Feb. 8, as they host the inaugural Gold Rush tournament at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach.
