Kahuku, HAWAII - The Long Beach State women's golf team recorded an opening round score of eight-over par 296 to finish day one of the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in seventh place at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii. Playing on the par-72, 6,261 yard George Fazio Course, the 49ers are just four shots behind Oregon and UCLA (296) and five shots behind fourth place Southern California (289).

UC Davis leads the field of 18 teams with a six-under 282 as the Aggies hold a six stroke lead over second place San Jose State (288) and third place California (289).

The 49ers were led by freshman Simone Hoey as she carded an even-72 in Monday's opening round to tie for 13th. Hoey recorded three birdies and three bogeys.

Freshman Reece Feducia and sophomore Noelle Zavaleta finished the day tied for 23rd with a 74.

Senior Brenda Chhuor is tied for 43rd with a 76 and junior Lindsey McAtee tied for 54th with a 77.

Alice Kim of UC Davis sits on top of the leaderboard as she leads the field of 93 players with a five-under 67 and holds a one stroke lead over Cristina Corpus of San Jose State and Demi Runas of UC Davis.
